Santa Fe Trail Days this weekend in New Franklin

Santa Fe Trail Days returns to downtown New Franklin on Friday and Saturday. Festivities open at 6 p.m. Friday with Bingo, bounce houses, and a beer garden. A teen dance starts at 8 p.m. with a burn circus at 8:30 p.m. 

Things kick into high gear on Saturday. Vendor booths open at 8 a.m. with the baby and Mr. & Miss contests at 8:30 a.m. The South Howard County Historical Society will host a quilt show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wandering magicians will perform from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

At 12:30 p.m., the National Anthem will be performed with a salute to the flag in the center of downtown. The parade begins at 1 p.m.

A Teen Dance starts at 5 p.m. by the main stage. There will be a log sawing contest at 5:30 p.m., followed by the burn circus at 8:30 p.m.

A 50/50 raffle will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on both nights. 

A performance by the Kay Brothers Band concludes the night from 9 p.m. to midnight in the beer garden, which opens at 4 p.m.
