Fayette defensive tackle Robert Saunders will play in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl on Monday. Saunders, a senior, was chosen after giving strong performance before college coaches in a football combine in the summer of 2020.

The game will be played at AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 25 and the game will air on the Impact Football Network.

Saunders, a 6-foot, 4-inch defensive lineman, weighed in at 355 pounds. Playing for the East Team, he will wear the #71 jersey along with his Fayette Falcons helmet.

“He is a top-end talent,” said Fayette football coach Mike Thompson. “He’s so strong. He’s definitely a guy who can play at a high level.”

As a senior, Saunders recorded 62 tackles, 10 of which were for losses. He forced two fumbles and had two sacks. Fayette finished 6-5 for the season and 4-3 in the Lewis & Clark Conference.

So far, Saunders has not committed to play football at the collegiate level.
