Perfect game earns CMU pitcher Heart honors

A perfect game from the pitching circle earned Central Methodist senior pitcher Haile Farris to be named the Heart of America Pitcher of the Week by the conference office.

It marks the first weekly conference honor for the Camdenton native.

Farris and the Eagles went 4-0 last weekend with sweeps of Park and Peru State.

The senior threw a perfect game in a 7-0 shutout against the Pirates, striking out four batters. It marked the first perfect game for the Eagles since April 22, 2023.

Farris followed that up with a complete game shutout of Peru State College Sunday. She gave up no runs on seven hits and finished the day with seven strikeouts.

Altogether, Farris threw 14 innings, struck out 11 batters, and didn't give up a run the entire weekend.

Over the last weekend, Farris helped her team sweep William Penn and Grand View. She allowed just one run in a combined 14 complete innings with 13 strikeouts.

Farris and the Eagles currently stand at 37-3 and 18-0 in the Heart of America.
