Fayette Superintendent Brent Doolin has announced administration changes at Daly Elementary School starting in the fall. Longtime principal Cheri Huster will transition to the district’s curriculum director. Samie Hill was hired as the new elementary principal.
The district has been without a dedicated curriculum director since Jill Wiseman was named district in 2019 Superintendent. Prior to that, she had served as curriculum director for 13 years.
Wiseman retired at the conclusion of the 2020-21 school year.
In March, the Fayette Board of Education voted to add a curriculum director position starting with the 2023-24 school year. Huster was later hired for the job on the contingency that a new elementary principal would be employed in time.
Huster has served as Daly principal for 10 years, the first four of which she served as the principal for both Daly and Clark Middle School. Prior to becoming principal, Cheri served 11 years as the elementary and middle school counselor.
Huster’s career in education began as a second-grade teacher in another district before returning to her alma mater in Fayette. In 2016, she was named Exemplary School Principal of the Year for the Northeast District by the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals.
Hill comes to Fayette after serving as principal at Osage Beach Elementary. She is no stranger to Fayette, having graduated from Central Methodist University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and health.
Hill has been in education for 18 years, the last eight years as a principal.
