For the second year in a row, the Fayette Police Department will be selling pork steaks to benefit the Fayette Holiday House.
Officers will serve pork steak dinners from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 5 at the Fayette city shed just south of C&R Market on Church Street. For $10, a hungry patron will receive a pork steak along with two sides and a dessert.
Last year, the department donated $2,500 to the Holiday House, all of which was raised at the pork steak fundraiser.
The Christmas Holiday House is presented annually under the auspices of the First Christian Church in Fayette. Every year the project distributes toys, games, art supplies, books, hats, and gloves to provide happy holiday celebrations for registered families. Last year, the Christmas Holiday House served 208 children, from newborns to 12-year-olds, in Howard County.
Additionally, monetary and material donations will be accepted for the Holiday House.
Families wishing to register for the Christmas Holiday House may do so at the First Baptist Church Education Building from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, or Saturday, November 18.
