Anyone who has enjoyed the adventurers of Laura and her family and friends in the Little House book series will be interested in the presentation at the Fayette Area Heritage Association annual membership meeting on November 9 at Emmet’s Kitchen & Tap.

In her well-researched presentation, “Sincerely yours, Laura Ingalls Wilder,” actress Nancy Kathleen Boswell, in full costume, chronicles the later life of Mrs. Wilder in Missouri. Set in 1947, she talks about Laura’s inspiration for the books late in her life and her enthusiasm for their reprint with artwork by Garth Williams and translation into German and Japanese. She also includes Mrs. Wilder’s letter to children in those countries.

To augment her presentation, Mrs. Boswell takes questions about her research both as Laura and herself and tells her audience of her goals of expressing the importance of Laura’s story to the history of our state and getting children of all ages to “get hooked” on the Little House books.

The meeting begins with social hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. As usual, a short business meeting will follow dinner with Mrs. Boswell’s program ending the evening.
