It’s Homecoming week at Fayette High School. Students have a full week of activities culminating with the crowning of the King and Queen at halftime of the football game followed by the annual Homecoming dance.

Senior queen candidates this year are Addie Huster, Kamryn Bentley, and Allie Spielbauer. King candidates are Kristian Pulliam, Bryce Callahan, and Gabe Bonen.

Underclass attendants are juniors Rylee Finley and Thomas Elliott, sophomores Browyn Eubanks and Payton Oeth, and freshmen Lainey Bentley and Colten Cross.

The crown bearers will be Sutton Ploof and Ollie Bryan. Returning Queen and King are Madi Lawson and Ben Wells.

The theme for this year’s Homecoming celebration is “Disney.” Dress up days throughout the week include Sleeping Beauty (Pajama Day), Alice in Wonderland’s Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb (Twin Day), Moana (Tropical Day), and Jungle Book/Tribal Colors (Black & Gold Day). Classes compete all week to see which has the most school spirit.

A pep rally will be held at the end of the school day on Thursday, where high school students will compete in class contests. 

On Friday, an all-school assembly will take place in the high school gym where Homecoming royalty will be announced. The popular Homecoming parade will begin after the assembly around 2:30 p.m. and will wind its way around the courthouse square.

Friday’s football game against rival Salisbury will kick off at 7 p.m.
