CMU grad to release new song with metal band Secular Era

Posted

Metal artists Secular Era and Drexl Bowie are excited to announce the release of their first collaboration, “Master Morality,” available on all music platforms, including Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music, on December 1.

Bowie is a 2019 graduate of Central Methodist University and resides in Kirksville.

“Master Morality” is based on the term coined by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Characterized by strength, power, and pride, those who subscribe claim moral good to whatever benefits them and their own goals. Master Morality is the first single written by Drexl Bowie. The song is meant to explore humanity’s dark side, uncover our need for power and control, and our fascination with violence, war, and “nobility.”

Bowie seeks to create fun yet intelligent music that will educate and reveal something within the listener. To help them create meaning and understanding out of their own lives within this age of horrors and use it to fight back against those destroying the Earth out of lust and greed. His style can be described as a mixture of Metal, Emo, and Punk Rock, blending clean vocals with painful screams and hard-hitting guitars.
