The 58th annual Central Methodist University Band Day is this Saturday. More than 40 schools from around the state are set to compete.
Schools from all classes are included in the lineup for the day of competition, which will include a parade and performances by bands, drum lines, and color guards.
The day will kick off with the parade at 9:30 a.m. in front of Swinney Conservatory before winding its way around the square. Bands will march down Church Street, turn left onto Morrison Street at the bandstand, left again onto Main Street, and conclude at the entrance to CMU at Main and Elm streets.
The parade will be followed by field competitions at Davis Field at 11 a.m. Indoor competitions will take place in Puckett Fieldhouse with drum lines starting at noon and color guards starting at 10:50 a.m. in the turf room at Phillips Recreation Center.
