“Living the Dream:

It Starts With Me

Spreading Hope, Courage and Unity”

On Sunday, Jan. 14, Fayette will come together to celebrate the life and legacy of the late civil right pioneer,  Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., with a series of celebrations.

The theme for the community-wide event will be “Living the Dream: It Starts With Me Spreading Hope, Courage and Unity.”

The event will begin with a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, at 101 W. Davis St. in Fayette, where soup & chili, sandwiches, desserts, and more will be served.

The luncheon will be followed by a Memorial Walk/Drive at 1:40 p.m. from First Baptist to the Assembly Hall on the Central Methodist University campus.

Attendees are asked to go through the Church St. entrance on the south side of Linn Memorial United Methodist Church; however, people may also enter through doors under the clock tower.

The service will begin at 2 p.m. in the CMU Assembly Hall, with music provided by The Derrick Enyard Band. The keynote message will be delivered by Rev. Ken Stacey, Pastor at Hillside Baptist Church. In addition, there will be others in the community who will provide reflections about the theme during the beginning of the services.
