Rural Fayette, Mo. resident, Judy Ray, 76, passed away at her home on October 15, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.

Judith Eileen Ray was born January 29, 1944, in Carrollton, Ill., a daughter to the late Miles Edward and Bessie Eileen (Ross) McGuire. Judy worked as a truck driver in the construction industry for numerous years. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. 

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie (Don) Abel, of Fayette, Mo. and Dottie (Warren) Gerlt, of Fayette, Mo.; one son, Mack Ray, of Fayette, Mo.; seven grandchildren, LaChrisha Frye, Nickie Frye, Dillan Frye, Julie McAnelly, Gene (Li) Gerlt III, Justin Gerlt, and Jodi Gerlt; five great-grandchildren, Jaida, Aleigha, Brylee, Ledger, and Mae; two brothers John (Karen) McGuire, of Fayette, Mo. and Ken (LeeAnn) McGuire, of Bucklin, Mo.; two sisters, Donna (Rick) Beale, of Bevier, Mo. and Barbie (Rick) Smith, of Fayette, Mo. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by two siblings, Emma Lou and Patrick.

A funeral service honoring Judy’s life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, with Pastor Jamie Page officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Log Chapel Cemetery in rural Fayette. Please note masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
