Jo Brucks died suddenly on August 8, 2020 at Boone Hospital in Columbia.  She was 58 years of age.

Jo Ann Brucks was born March 5, 1962 in Versailles, MO to Mildred (Spencer) Becker.  Jo was a 1980 graduate of New Franklin High School and after high school she earned an Associate’s Degree in Business from Central Missouri State University at Warrensburg.  Jo married Don Brucks August 21, 1982 at St. Mary’s Church in Glasgow. 

She had worked at Tri-County Bank in Glasgow for 35 years, serving as a Vice President at the time of her death.  She was an active member of St. Mary’s Church and School.  She served on the Education Endowment Fund Board and also sang in Cecelia’s Voice Choir.  She was also active in the Glasgow Community, serving as past president and current vice president of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, past member of the Library Board, active member of the Main Street Association, and the Friends of the Library.  Whenever there was a need, Jo was there to help.  Jo loved Glasgow with every inch of her heart.  She loved spending time with her family and will be sadly missed by all that knew her. 

She is survived by her husband, Don of the home, two sons, Matthew (Nicole) Brucks of Jonesburg, MO, Marcus (Jenny) Brucks of Glasgow and daughter, Morgan Brucks and Vlad Papa of Overland Park, KS, four grandchildren, Ella, Sophia, Olivia and Charlie, a sister, Becky (Virgil) King of Glasgow and her mother, Mildred Becker of Boonville and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.  She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Becker and sister, Billie Jo Becker.

There will be a funeral memorial mass 10 am, Saturday, August 15, 2020 at St. Mary’s Church with Fr. Paul Hartley officiating.  A private family burial will follow the mass at Washington Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St Mary’s School Education Endowment Fund in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 112 Market St. Glasgow, MO 65254.
