Funds raised will benefit Sarah Henderson, Ellis Fischel

The Henderson family: Zach, David, Sarah, and Josh.

Fayette High School will once again hold its Pink Out event during Friday night home basketball games. This year’s Pink Out will be February 14. The night will honor Sarah Henderson, of Fayette. She is currently fighting breast cancer. Her sons Zach and Josh are high school juniors here at the high school.

Pink Out will feature a silent auction throughout the evening. The Clark Middle School student council will sell items such as temporary tattoos, bracelets, and suckers. Additionally, chocolate covered strawberries and cake pops will be sold just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Henderson family along with Ellis Fischel Cancer Hospital.

Mrs. Henderson has been undergoing chemotherapy and will soon begin radiation treatments and immunotherapy. “This has been a prolonged challenge,” she said. “I am thankful for the prayers and community support, which has literally carried me at times. My prognosis is good.

“One important lesson I have personally taken out of this ordeal, is that routine cancer screenings are of utmost importance and although difficult to face, cancer is much more manageable if caught early.”
