A ribbon cutting was held Friday afternoon to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the transition of G.G. Smith & Son’s to the ownership of Wes Moxley. He purchased the real estate title company on the south side of the Fayette square from David Smith in August 2022.
The business opened in 1951, and Moxley is the first owner outside of the Smith family.
“Everything has been going great,” Moxley said. “It’s been an amazing first year.”
Moxley isn’t new to the title business. He spent the previous 10 years employed by Monarch Title Co., the last seven of which were in Boonville. He lives in Harrisburg with his wife, Callie, and his daughters Layla and Norah.
The business celebrated it’s one-year anniversary with a spread of cupcakes and champaign.
Left to right: Taylor McCann (Chamber Secretary), Cana Conrow (Main St. Executive Director), Li Lee (Chamber Treasurer), Laylay Moxley, Norah Moxley, Callie Moxley, Wes Moxley, Tricia Bartolacci (Title Department Manager), Julie Parrish (Chamber Vice-President), Kelsey Noll (Chamber), and Landon Ball (Chamber President).
