Candidates for county and district races spoke and answered questions at a forum Monday night hosted by the Fayette Advertiser. Held at the St. Joseph Church Catholic Church Hall, candidates for Howard County Coroner, Sheriff, and Western District Commissioner, as well as Missouri House Representative for the 48th District each spoke directly to voters in advance of the Nov. 3 election.
In addition, Jeff Stockhorst, who won the Republican primary for Eastern District Commissioner and is unopposed in the general election, as well as Paul Lehman, Green Party candidate for Missouri Secretary of State addressed the audience.
Candidates introduced themselves before answering a series of questions posed by moderator Justin Addison.
The forum remained civil, without devolving into the kind of back-and-forth, accusatory debate often seen at the national level. “That just goes to show the kind of class those seeking office in Howard County have in comparison to career politicians,” Addison said.
A full video of the forum may be viewed above.
