Fayette’s newest restaurant opened last week. On Saturday, owners, staff, and family officially cut the ribbon at the grand opening of The Boricua’s South Street Family Restaurant, a Puerto Rican inspired restaurant on South Church Street.
Owners Manuel Maritnez, Carly John, and Adrian Martinez welcomed diners for the first time Wednesday night of last week. Since then, business at the restaurant has been steady as customers have been drawn in by Caribbean flavors inspired by the Martinez brothers’ ancestral home.
Members of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce and Fayette Main Street, Inc. welcomed the new business to town with Saturday’s ribbon cutting.
“Boricua” means a native of Puerto Rico, where the Martinez brothers are from. They made their way to Fayette by way of the Central Methodist University baseball team.
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesdays through Saturdays. Visit https://www.restaurantji.com/mo/fayette/the-boricua-s-south-street-/ for more information.
